When it comes to weddings and marriage, we automatically think about the glorious details: the white dress, the perfect wedding pictures, the ideal dream of having your ride or die; but we seldom consider the work, the commitment, the willingness required to sustain and have a successful marriage.
“A Praying Wife” is an eye-opener on what marriage is about. What makes this book worthwhile is that it is based on a true story. Mrs Shwane shares her life as a wife, taking us through the details of the important aspects of marriage, things you need to be aware of and focus on when in marriage.
The book launch took place at Krystal Beach Hotel in Gordon’s Bay, Cape Town, on 29 February 2020. Both single and married ladies attended. You may think the book is not relevant for singles, but it very much is, more especially when singleness is a pre-requisite for marriage. People are first individuals before they are a couple.
Something very powerful was shared at the launch. It was said that many marriages fail because of illiteracy when it comes to marriage. People are not knowledgeable about what marriage is truly about.
If there’s anything to take out from this book is that prayer is the weapon to a successful marriage. The key thing is to be specific in prayers. Prayer shows that you have hope in God and trust Him to answer and pull through for you and your marriage.
With all that Mrs Shwane had been through in her own marriage, rest assured that your marriage can pull through as well, because the creator who invented it, God Almighty, is invited into it to intervene through prayer.
